Slide the plant out of the sleeve and take off all the padding, paper and tape. If the medium has worked loose, tap the pot gently to resettle it; if some spilled, tuck it back or top up with any chunky mix. Arrived cold? Leave it wrapped at room temperature for an hour first.
Do not repot for at least 8 weeks. Moving a plant that has just travelled is the number one cause of setbacks.
A small drink only if the medium is dry. From then on, water when the pot feels light and the leaves lose a little firmness, never on a schedule.
An east window, or a couple of feet back from a south or west one. No hot direct sun for the first two weeks.
After that, a weak feed every other watering in the growing season. Our Hoya Formula is made for exactly this.
A yellow lower leaf or a dropped bud after shipping is normal. New growth in 4 to 8 weeks is the sign it has settled in.
